You cannot effectively pray while angry.
Written By Maranda Kelley

Have you ever tried to do something while being upset, and lose your train of thought? Like, you completely forgot what you were about to do next…..? We can probably all agree that attempting to hold a clear conversation while angry is not the best idea either.
It has been scientifically proven, that being angry significantly increases the heart rate, blood pressure, and stress hormones, potentially impacting cardiovascular health, digestion, and cognitive function.
So, imagine trying to pray while experiencing all of the above.
1 Timothy 2:8
“I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;”
In 1 Timothy chapter 2, There were issues going on in the church, and people were arguing. Paul was instructing brother Timothy to not only pray in every place, but to do it with the right attitude and without quarreling. He did not want their prayers hindered due to doing it wrong. We cannot properly communicate to God or others in anger. Be encouraged that being in the presence of God can calm your spirit. Take a moment to cool down before you pray. It will be a much better conversation with your Heavenly Father :-) God bless you!
