Repentance is the perfect intro to prayer.
Written By Maranda Kelley

Apologizing before asking for anything from someone you've wronged can make a world of difference. It clears the air, opening the door for genuine communication. Without that apology, the person wronged may find it difficult to engage in conversation, burdened by unresolved hurt.
This principle applies to our relationship with God as well. Repentance is the best introduction to prayer. Even when we feel we’ve done nothing wrong, taking a moment to repent demonstrates humility and love. It acknowledges His holiness and our need for His grace.
I’m so grateful that He is so loving and forgiving. Nothing can separate us from His love, but when we repent and turn away from our wrongdoing, it demonstrates our love and devotion to Him in return.
Daniel 9:19
“O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.”
Daniel 9:1-19 is a powerful example of how repentance sets the stage for heartfelt prayer. Daniel's prayer begins with a humble confession of sins, both personal and communal, acknowledging Israel’s disobedience. It shows us that repentance not only aligns our hearts with God's will but also deepens our connection with Him, making our prayers more sincere and impactful. God bless you!
