Selfish Prayers Unanswered .

I know this might not apply to you, but there are people who ask for things with the wrong motives and intentions. For example: "Lord, bless me with that big, new house so I can prove something to my haters." Or, "God, please give me a million dollars," only to waste it on extravagant and harmful things they don’t need. We all know someone guilty of this ; even if that someone is the person staring back at us in the mirror.

God is a good Father who blesses us according to His will and what we truly need. You might wonder, "Does He ever bless us with our wants too?" The answer is yes—when our desires align with His will. But He will not answer selfish prayers.

James 4:3

"Yet even when you do pray, your prayers are not answered, because you pray just for selfish reasons". 

After being enlightened by James 4:3 taking a moment to think about our most recent prayer requests sounds like a good idea. The motive and intent of your prayer could very well be the reason that it was not answered. My prayer today is "Lord allow my desires and requests to be in line with what You want me to have. For I do know that you have my best interest at heart."
