Don’t Pray in Worry, but in Faith.
Written By Maranda Kelley
Have you ever found yourself—or witnessed someone else—repeatedly asking for the same thing, even after a promise was already made? This can often happen in our prayer life when doubt creeps in. Praying out of worry means continuously asking, crying, and pleading with God for something He has already promised to do. Think about it: if you’ve made a promise to someone, wouldn’t their constant requests feel like they’re questioning your word? It shows a lack of trust. In the same way, when we repeatedly pray about the same issue without resting in God’s promise, it reflects a lack of faith. Trusting God means believing that His word is enough.
Exodus 14:15
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.
In other words, God was essentially asking, "Why are you crying out to Me about something I’ve already taken care of? Just do what I told you and trust Me." I can imagine God feeling frustrated, wanting Moses to simply trust the plan and have faith in Him—as He likely feels with us at times. It wasn’t so much about how often Moses prayed for the deliverance of the Israelites, but rather the spirit in which he prayed. His crying and groaning clearly revealed his worry. Instead, we should strive to have firm faith and pray with confidence, knowing that God always keeps His promises to us!
God bless you!
