Praying in unfavorable times
Written By Maranda Kelley

As we have learned, prayer is communication to God. Whether you are asking for something, or simply thanking Him , it is still communication. There are so many types of prayers that fit all needs. Once we develop a practice to pray (communicate to God), it becomes easier to do. We all know that life has ups, downs, highs, and lows. This truth just might be one of the reasons we were instructed to " always" pray. It is not always easy , and is much more difficult to do when things are tough. Sometimes we may even get upset or displeased with what God has allowed. In those times, be reminded that your circumstance does not change who God is or how much He loves you. In hard times, maybe He is requesting something of you; perhaps it is more Faith. When we lose faith, we lose joy. When we lose joy, we lose strength.
"About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them."
Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises to God while in jail. Not only were they in jail, but they had done no wrong. Ask yourself, "what would I have done?" They could have blamed God, not wanted to serve Him anymore, or lost their joy and faith. Instead, they kept communicating with God and praised Him. If we use their situation to reflect on our own lives; maybe we can see how praying and praising God can change our situation. Their response to their circumstance showed God faith, joy, and commitment to Him. God not only freed them from jail, but others were also saved.
No matter what you may go through, keep praying and praising God until your unfavorable circumstance turns into a blessed testimony.
(Heart & Comment Amen if this has blessed you today.)
